Some days it's two players and a chalk bag clipped to your harness. Some days it's the whole crew and a dry bag riding a paddleboard.
Talus Tumble® Expedition Edition is built for both.
Some adventures call for two players and a chalk bag clipped to your harness. Others call for the whole crew, a dry bag lashed to the paddleboard, and a game that shrugs off the water. The Expedition Edition is both.
Talus Tumble® Expedition Edition brings together the complete collection: the portable two-player Basecamp Edition in its real climbing chalk bag, and the four-player Original in its waterproof dry bag. Play them on their own, or combine the stones for a single game of up to six people.
Every piece is handcrafted from natural stone, inspired by real rock formations, so no two sets balance quite the same. Every successful placement feels impossible. Every tumble becomes part of the story.
Clip the chalk bag to a backpack for the trail. Seal the dry bag for the river, the lake, or the paddleboard. Between the two, there is no campsite, coffee table, or mountain overlook Talus Tumble cannot reach.
In a world dominated by screens, Expedition Edition creates something increasingly rare: real presence. The only time phones come out is to photograph what you built together.

How to play?
To start the game, each player rolls the die. The first player to roll a TT (wildcard) begins the game by placing any rock on the base. If no TT is rolled in the first round, the player who first rolled starts. The play proceeds clockwise.
Players must place rocks using one hand. You may only touch other rocks with the rock you are placing. Once a rock is placed, it must remain stable for 10 seconds or until the next player picks up the die. If any rocks fall during your turn or before the next player’s turn, you must add the fallen rocks to your pile.
-
The player must remove 2 rocks from the stack. If additional rocks fall during the attempt they are added to the players pile.
-
Reverse Direction: Game play immediately reverses direction to the previous player.
-
TT (Talus Tumble) - acts as a wild-card. The player may place any one of their remaining rocks on the base.
-
When players rolls SEND IT!, they may stack as many of their remaining rocks as they choose in a single turn.
A GAME OF BALANCE
Talus Tumble is a game of balance, strategy, and nerve inspired by nature’s precarious rock formations. Each player is given six unique rocks of different shapes, and the challenge begins as you take turns stacking them on the rock base. The game tests your precision and creativity as you aim to outlast your opponents or race to victory.Place all your rocks on the base without causing a tumble! But beware – one wrong move can cause the tower to collapse, adding fallen rocks to your pile. With special dice rolls that can turn the game on its head, every decision matters.

Gameplay
Talus Titan
(Accumulation Gameplay)
In Tumble Titan, players compete over multiple rounds, with the goal of being the first to accumulate 21 points. Points are awarded to the player who successfully places all of their rocks in each round. Here’s how scoring works:
When a player successfully places all of their rocks without causing the stack to tumble, they win the round.
The remaining players count the number of rocks they have left in their pile. Each unplaced rock is worth 1 point.
The player who wins the round is awarded all these points (the total number of rocks left by the other players). The game continues with rounds until one player reaches or exceeds 21 points, at which point they are crowned the Tumble Titan!
Play continues in rounds until only one player remains. The last player standing, who successfully navigates all the rounds without Rocking Out, is crowned The Tumble Survivor,’ having successfully navigated through all rounds without Rocking Out!
Make Talus Tumble Your Own!
At Talus Tumble, we believe that creativity and community make every game better. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce Custom Rules, a feature that puts the power of game design in your hands. Soon, we’ll provide a link where you can submit your custom rules, and we’ll share them with the entire Talus Tumble community!
But that’s not all—you’ll also be able to create your own custom dice legend! Want to change what each roll means or add new actions to your d12? The choice is yours! Whether you’re adding new twists like bonus turns, special penalties, or even entirely new moves, you’ll have the flexibility to craft a dice legend that suits your style of play.
Once submitted, your rules and custom dice legends will be shared with the community, allowing others to play your version of Talus Tumble. You can explore other players’ rule sets, be inspired by their ideas, or create the next great variation that others will love.
Get ready to put your imagination to the test and see how your custom rules and dice legends stack up! Stay tuned for the official launch of this feature and join in shaping the future of Talus Tumble.

Tumble Survivor
(Elimination Gameplay)
The goal in Tumble Survivor is to outlast your opponents by avoiding elimination. Each time a player successfully places all of their rocks onto the stack without causing it to tumble, the remaining players must count the rocks they have left in their pile. Here’s how the game progresses:
For each unplaced rock, a player receives 1 point.
Once a player accumulates 10 points, they have ‘Rocked Out’ of the game and are eliminated.
When a player ‘Rocks Out,’ any rocks they had left in their pile are removed from gameplay, reducing the number of rocks in future rounds.
Play continues in rounds until only one player remains. The last player standing, who successfully navigates all the rounds without Rocking Out, is crowned The Tumble Survivor,’ having successfully navigated through all rounds without Rocking Out!
